Two Birds Cafe
Two Birds Cafe creates a sense of warmth and hospitality through a considered renovation to a century-old heritage building.
The extensive renovation consisted of peeling back layers of plaster and paint to showcase the buildings original stonework. The addition of full height, steel-framed, windows connects the cafe to the activity of the street and allows the penetration of natural light into the cafe's interior. A chandelier made entirely of Posca markers hangs over the cafe's communal table - paying homage to the suburb's long connection to street art and graffiti.
The re-modelled space provides a sanctuary for conversations and connections to flourish.
